Colonial Gutters

5″ Colonial Gutter (5K/Ogee) is the most common and often best choice for residential applications. It has a wide bottom which allows for a large opening to the downpipe. This style has been available for over 40 years and is the most widely used, therefore can easily be matched for partial replacements, unlike some styles which have been discontinued. The ogee shape gives this gutter the strongest configuration and the 5″ wide opening offers good accessibility for easy cleaning. The image above is an example of this gutter style

It is available in a wide variety of materials including aluminum, steel and copper.

6″ Commercial Gutters

6″ Colonial is primarily used for commercial or institutional buildings, e.g. warehouses, schools, hospitals, stores and office buildings. It is available in .032″ heavy gauge aluminum in white or nutmeg brown, or a variety of colors in 24ga or 26ga steel.

Fascia Gutters

Super 5

This is the one you see in the image above. They are the best of our Fascia Gutters. Below are examples of our other styles of fascia gutters.

Fascia gutters are generally used where the builder has not installed a fascia board over the sub-fascia. The greater depth allows the gutter to cover the 2 x 4″ subfascia and soffit J-Trim for a clean look. They can also be used on a larger fascia board if the style is preferred.
They are available in .025″ regular gauge aluminum in Two Step, Crown and Flat Face styles.

Super 5 is best suited as a fascia gutter but can be used in all applications. It has the greater depth of regular fascia gutter but has a wider bottom allowing for the same advantages of a 5″ Colonial gutter. It’s high capacity makes it a great replacement for older narrow fascia gutter styles such as box bottom or flat face.
Available in .025″ regular gauge aluminum, or 24 ga or 26ga steel.

Limited Installation Warranty:

Advantage Gutters Inc. hereby warrants installation of new products for workmanship for a period of 5 years from date of installation.

If, after inspection, Advantage Gutters Inc determines that the new products installed fail to perform adequately due to installation, they will at their option, either replace or repair the product(s) free of charge.

This warranty is for the application and installation only, of new products supplied and installed only by Advantage Gutters Inc and does not cover defective materials, which would be covered by the material supplier’s warranty of up to 40 years (pro-rated). The customer assumes responsibility for the soundness of the structure to which the products are fastened.

Advantage Gutters Inc will not be liable for the misuse of the product or damage caused by settling of structure, fire, hail, ice, snow or wind damage, or other acts of nature. Failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance (ie: regular cleaning of debris from roof and inside of gutters) nullifies this warranty.

Gutter Maintenance

Besides cleaning gutters, you will find a little preventative maintenance goes a long way. Sometimes you may only need a section or some portion of your gutters fixed or replaced. Sometimes you may just choose to upgrade and add leaf guard protection, or leaf capture systems in. Sometimes you may want to adjust the flow coming into to your downspouts by changing the standard vinyl outlet into an aluminum flush mount outlets to increase water flow.

Sometimes, you just need a professional service call, to diagnose and fix problems in your existing gutter system. Ignoring problems with your gutters may save you some money short term, but in the long term, will cost you a lot more in problems that arise with poor drainage solutions.

Gutter Cleaning

Gutters that become obstructed from fallen debris, leaves, and pests like birds become a liability to your house. The guttering can actually start pulling away from the fascia, and even come right off. Overflowing gutters create backup and can eventually create water damage. Regular cleaning is one of the easiest way to do this.

In many cases it is very risky for a homeowner to clean their own gutters. Specifically 2 level houses with walkout basements. You need either a very long ladder which puts you at risk of a fall injury, or you can do it from your rooftop. From your rooftop, you risk falling off.

When you hire a professional company to do this, you eliminate all the risk for yourself physically, and financially. Our workers are all covered by Workers Compensation Board Canada.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY GUTTERS CLEANED?

If you are in a heavily treed area in a close proximity, then you will need to have your gutters cleaned twice per year. If you are in miles of vacant land with no trees, it is still a good idea to clean them once a year.

Flush Mount Outlets

The advantage of flush mount outlets is they will increase the size of the drainage hole in the gutter thus preventing the clogging of materials right at the top of the downspouts. In the image to the left, you will see a common problem with standard vinyl outlets that are standard installation with most gutter systems. You will clearly see a problem that you are probably all to familiar with.

Aluminum Outlets

Our aluminum flush mount outlets will last as long as your gutters. The standard size these flush mount outlets come in is 2.75 inches which is more than double the drainage that the normal vinyl outlets are when originally installed. They also come with removable strainers which makes cleaning a snap. The nice thing about aluminum is that aluminum outlets do not wear from the sun which means less maintenance. Most vinyl outlets need to be changed 2-3 times throughout the life of the gutters.

Rain Chains

Rain chains are a classy alternative to downspouts. How they work is that the rain chains break the fall of water, and direct it downward to the ground, or into another gutter on a different level. They also can direct into basins for water storage. Rain chains also have a unique sound when rain is going through them. It is not too loud, but if you listen carefully, it creates a tranquil sound.

Rain chains are easy to install, and require less maintenance than downspouts. They add elegance and charm to any house old or new.

Rain chains come in a variety of materials like; copper, iron, brass, and aluminum.
